1920s-1930s: Lincoln Sport

The Lincoln Sport was designed in 1930 in the USA for amateur construction. ZK-BMV was commenced in 1932, but didn't fly until 1940. Highly modified and running an English Bristol Cherub engine, this aircraft is believed to be the only Lincoln still flying anywhere in the world. It is also the oldest flyable homebuilt aircraft in New Zealand and serves well to represent the pioneer aviation movement in the pre-war period.
